OVERVIEW: The Pirelli P Zero Run Flat (*) is a high performance summer run flat tire manufactured for passenger vehicles. This model is the original equipment tire for select BMW vehicles.The tire ensures its excellent summer weather traction. Its special silica and carbon black mix tire compound and the asymmetric tread design work together to boost the dry and wet weather road gripping ability. The compound prevents heat build-up at high speeds, while the tread design with the lateral siping detail firmly grips the dry and wet weather road surface. The tread design's three circumferential grooves actively prevent hydroplaning by dispersing water and slush from below the tire's footprint. The model, however, is not suited for winter weather, as the compound and tread design are unable to provide traction on ice and snow.The model's reinforced internal structure allows it to be driven on after air pressure loss. When air pressure leaves the tire due to a puncture or other damage, the tire's structure withstands the weight of the vehicle and its passengers. In other words, it can be driven on for 50 miles up to the speed of 50 mph. This prevents the driver from being stranded on the side of the road.
