If a product is seeming to not absorb into your skin – whether it be a facial oil or a facial balm – consider first that you might simply be using too much. A facial cream is always approximately 70% water; this is just how all emulsifiers work. In a cosmetic emulsion, the water has to be dominant at well over 60%, typically closer to 70-80%. When you are switching to a Balm or Oil from a Cream, it is important to consider this information and use only 1/4 of what you would normally expect to use with a cream. Balms and Serums are dramatically concentrated in comparison to normal commercial skin care. If you are looking to reduce that shiny glow, then simply use less product. Ritual: Night Balm can be used as a mask, and I highly recommend it!
